Gnome of the Day
Let's get political
I really dislike politics.
Probably because I just don't have the in depth knowledge of them.
But.
I really hate the Presidential elections because it's all Obama doesn't do this, and Romney will do that. Romney will change this and Obama won't do that. Blah blah blah.
What really gets me is that everyone thinks the changing of the President is going to bring all this initial change in policies and put what is wrong back right. It's not. Sorry kids, just not going to happen. I mean you can blame just about every president from the past 60+ years for our current situation.
Presidents change every four to eight years. You have to look at what doesn't change to find a true fix. Companies that feed campaigns and lifelong politicians. And not just on the Federal level, you have to go through all of them, federal, state, and local. So many people just get the job and never leave. I'm sure their intentions are good when they are initially elected, but you know that goes away after the years and the power of the position just takes over. You want things to get better, get people in office who don't have a hand up their back.
Good luck with that!
Part of the problem really is there really is not any emphasis on local/state elections as there is the Presidential one. Primaries are important, but just kind of brushed over and most run unopposed.
And I know I'm part of the problem, since I could care less about voting in the primaries since I know nothing about what's going on. I could do more, but choose not to. And that is unfortunate.

Updating Old Designs
For the past year or so I have been updating some of my older designs when I have the time/inspiration too.
I recently got around to updating my Lobster. It'll get you laid design.

Hopefully this design will get some more looks now, it has been a consistent seller already for me. A few a year, but I hope the new spin on the design will make it more appealing to my customers. Check out this design on a variety products here on CafePress.

I love Star Wars Shirts
I have like 3 or 4 more to.
But it got me thinking, as much as I love the prequel movies. I'll never buy a shirt with any of those characters/posters on it. I'll probably only ever buy the original trilogy designs.

The Places I ate in Ocean City, MD - 2012 Edition
It's time for another edition of what I ate while on vacation in Ocean City, MD. This year, some new, some old, and a few more than once.
First off.
Grotto's
A longtime Delaware fixture has finally made it's way into OCMD. Their location is in the old Doughrollers/Old Mill Crab House location between 123rd and 127th street. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of my food, since we ate at their restaurant. WRONG! Unless you are going to eat at the bar, just get your food to go. They pack you in there like sardines, really felt right on top of all the tables around us. Really annoying. We ordered breadsticks, a large cheese pizza, and a chicken cheese steak with fries. Breadsticks were good, not too heavy. Pizza was decent, I've had better and I've had a lot worse. Chicken Cheesesteak was decent as well. For where I live it's not really worth the money to visit a place like Grotto's. I have a ton of good pizzeria's, that I better quality food at a better price in a larger portion.
Tequila Mockingbird
A staple when we visit OCMD. Love the food at this place. This year on our first visit, I got chicken enchiladas. I went against the grain and let them top this dish with whatever their green pepper sauce is (sorry, for the life of me I cannot remember the name and it's not showing on their web site menu). The sauce was good, but next time on the side. The sauce had a ton of onion chunks in it, look I know the sauce is gonna have them in it, just did not know they were going to be in big chunks. You see, onions give my cat piss breath, for like three days. That's why I try to avoid them, and I did my best to and did not have any bad results (as in cat piss breath for days).
Duffy's Tavern!!
One of my favorite bars to visit for drinks and food. Unfortunately prices have finally gone up on their Happy Hour menu, still a good deal though. I got the Jameson Whiskey Sauce Wings and 1/2 pound of steamed shrimp. Damn good meal, plus it was Happy Hour so I drank cheap too. But this would be my most expensive meal.
JC's Northside Pub
This place has been there every year we have been down in OCMD, and this is the first year we ate there. Will definitely go back there if/when we are down again. I got the Pizza style chicken breast sandwich with pepperoni, provolone, and marinara sauce. Excellent choice, plus the roll was great it brought it all together. Oh, and this came with a side of their pub chips. Excellent. Sorry, no picture I wasn't thinking.
Tequila Mockingbird Take 2
Night out with the wife, we went back here. Why not, it's good! This time around I got the crunchy chicken tacos and almost forgot to take a picture. This comes with a nice portion of rice as well as three tacos. Oh and chips and salsa. Great deal, good food.
Atlantic Stand
Boardwalk night!! First time we've been at the boardwalk for a few years. I got the 3-piece chicken dinner, it was like $7. It came with fries and a roll. I was stuffed and the chicken was excellent! Win. Win. Totally recommend.
Grotto's Take 2
We ordered from here yet again. This time around we got the...wait for it...totally something different and out there...chicken cheese steak boli, large cheese pizza, and fries. I'll tell you this much, their pizza is a lot better there than when you take it back to your place. But that's still not worth eating in that tiny dining room. Chicken Cheesesteak boli was good, more cheese than the sandwich, but yeah...that was a tiny portion and it was called a large. Just not worth it to me, but it wasn't horrible or anything. Still good, just not world changing.
Oh, and I know I said I was never going back to the Blue Ox again. We went there for a drink and ordered an appetizer. WRONG! Horrible service and mediocre food and this was in the bar area with about 3 people sitting there. Just terrible. Don't ever go there, not worth it. There are plenty of good eateries and bars surrounding this place. I have no idea why/how this place is still open with their lousy service. Hopefully something else goes in there soon.
