2010 Has come and gone

The end of the year, time to reflect and all that crap.

2010, a full calendar year of total unemployment from start to finish. Many resumes sent out, only 1 or 2 rejection letters came in, and absolutely no phone calls. Fun times.

Other than that it was a good year, had some very important parenting lessons learned. Got to see my son grow and become even more like a little person. Not sure that's the greatest thing in the world, especially if you know me. He's taking on too many of my Dougisms. Not good for the rest of the world, funny for me.

As far as my shops went, not the greatest year sales wise, but December rocked. Plus I saw different designs/items sell this year which makes me hopeful for 2011. Plus that makes me want to look over my designs yet again and better place them on items. Not all of my designs are meant mainly for t-shirts. Some are better off on stickers/mugs. But I'll worry about that in the next few months, it'll give me something to do.

That's it. Bring on 2011, hopefully it will be an up year all around.

Best.December.Ever.

November and December are normally the best sales month I have, although the past like 2 years it has not been that way. This December I had my best sales month ever. 64 to be exact, that's great to see. A lot of different designs have sold this month too, which is very encouraging to see. Hopefully that will mean some of these designs will sell a little more throughout this next year. *fingers crossed*

This is also my highest money total too, but sadly not by much. Back in 2007 I had 36 sales and get a whopping $148. This December I'll bring in a grand total of $160ish. Damn that 10% I get from the marketplace sales. Oh, well. I'm not complaining, I like seeing the sales. 

I thought for sure I was going to have a new top seller this December with my There is No Family in Fantasy Football t-shirt. But it wasn't, the top design is still I am an Asshole.

Weekly Weight Loss Update

Last Week: 188.8

This Week: 189.9

Not surprised by this at all, have not really been good with eating at all this past week, and won't be next week either. Just hope I don't go up too much. I will start to make the final push come for 180 come January. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with the weight I'm at. Although I think I can shed another 10 pounds. Those 10 pound lie around my waistline.

Working out was near the same, did not do the little extras that I have done in previous weeks. Doing yoga once or twice a week will be a goal, along with the two days of cardio and weight lifting.

I am enjoying the Holiday season and not nitpicking at what I will eat. This time only comes once a year so why not enjoy it. Just try not to over indulge.

10 Years Gone

On this day 10 years ago I graduated college. Seems like a lifetime ago.

I've done a lot in those 10 years. Got a job, moved out of my parents house, got engaged, got married, bought a house, got a dog, lost weight, had a kid, turned 30, lost my job. Those are just the highlights, there is a lot of stuff in between. It's funny how when you are a kid turning a certain age feels so long and painful, but once you get older the time seemingly flies by. I thought it took forever to turn 16 so I could drive.

I am not normally good at remembering dates for certain things in my life, I can't remember the actual date I graduated High School, some time in June. It was hot and we were stuck inside of a gym, the same gym I graduated college in. So hot that day, when I came home I jumped in the pool, there was a threat of a thunderstorm so we had to be inside on a very hot and humid day. I remember the day I graduated college, because it is also the same day as my mom's birthday. A cold front moved through that day, I remember coming out of the gym and it being windy as hell.

College was fun, I liked being in school. I did not really apply myself to a lot of classes, since I thought most of them were pointless, and that was kind of my fault. I went two years undeclared and thought I was going go into a major, was thinking about geography maybe a business major. But really, those sucked. Extremely boring and pointless. When I finally decided on a major (commercial art), I had to stuff those classes into two (and a half) years. Which was kind of hard, a lot of those classes were long and demanding, would have been better off only taking two a semester instead of five.

Living at home was kind of a regret, would have been nice to experience the college life. But I have to say, it would not have worked for me with the community bathrooms. I like my privacy in those matters. Plus the college debt, I came out with half the amount that someone who lives at college would have had. Still, I could have spent more time on campus had I wanted to, I chose to go home after class was over. Plus I got to experience some college dorm life while visiting friends at Penn State, those were fun weekends. So that is why it is kind of a regret, in the grand scheme of things I am happy with my decision to live at home during college.

Not sure what I wanted this blog post to be, I had something in mind earlier in the week. Guess I should have started when the actual idea was in my head. I want to add more, but for the life of me it is not coming to me at all. If I think of it, I'll just add it down the road.

Just hard to believe it's been 10 years since college.

Weekly Weight Loss Update

Last Week: 189.0

This Week: 188.8

Hovering in this weight range, but that is not a complaint. Not going up a lot is a good thing, considering I had cookies added to my diet this past week. Thought I may have been up some because of that, so this is a win. Honestly this is really a bad time of year for weight loss. All the extra goodies around it's hard not to gain weight. You can't pass up the good food this time of year, it only comes once a year so why not indulge a little. I don't really expect to be going down the next couple of weeks, since I know I will be eating and drinking more in the next two weeks. 

Workouts were relatively the same, missed one day of weights and cardio because of the extremely cold weather. The space heater in the garage doesn't cut it in that type of bitter cold. Did do some workouts on the Wii Fit and some yoga so I did not lose any work out days. Just the type of workout. Food intake was around the same, except for the added cookies. 

I'll be looking to get down to my goal once the new year starts.

Yay Beer. Magic Hat Review

Now, let's get some things straight. I suck at writing, and telling you something about how something tastes other than, THAT RULED!! Is probably what you're going to get. With that being said. 

About 2 years ago, I finally decided to branch out and start drinking some other beers. I went from Yuengling Lager, to Miller Lite as the only beer I drank. I rarely stepped out of those two beers, well because I liked them. I knew what I got with them, and I still drink Miller Lite as my primary beer. Except every now and again I get something different to try out. Some I like, some I REALLY like, and others are meh. If Pennsylvania didn't have such dumb laws about where you can buy a six-pack, I would try way more. Better to spend $8 on a 6-pack of nasty beer, than $30+ on a case that sucks. 

A couple weeks ago, I noticed the Magic Hat Night of the Living Dead sampler pack on sale for $21. I couldn't pass that up, even if the best buy date was only a week away. Not like it goes to shit on that date. Here is my review of the beer.

Hex - Ourtoberfest 

Octoberfest beers are one of my favorites, but this one is taking the cake as my favorite Octoberfest. This beer was fairly smooth to me, not like other Octoberfests I've had where, I have to kind of force the first one down before it starts tasting good. Definitely Case worthy.

Not Quite Pale Ale  

Oh man, this was some good stuff too. Can't really describe the taste other than it was really good (see, I suck). Definitely case worthy.

I.P.A. on Tour

Not a fan of the I.P.A. beers. The bitterness/hoppiness of the beer is just not for me. Not saying I won't drink one or two, the Alcohol Content is normally pretty high in these beers, but I have to choke them down. So, if I can I avoid them. In a variety pack though, you can't really ignore them. Not even 6 pack worthy.

Odd Notion - Green Apple Wit

This one took me by surprise, I really liked it. Took me a couple of sips to place the green apple. I didn't investigate on the web site before hand, so I had no idea what I was getting into. I can handle a few of the fruity beers at a time, still really good though. 6 pack worthy.

There is my review of Magic Hat's Night of the Living Dead Sampler. I enjoyed it, and can not wait until next fall to get another case. Hopefully I will snag their next variety pack too. Now a fan of Magic Hat, that was my first time trying their beer.

Weekly Weight Loss Update

Down just a tad this week, but I'm down and not up. That's a good thing, considering last weekend I went deer hunting, and all I killed was beer. I just didn't see any deer, and I did down a good amount of beer. Plus some extra food being in the form of candy that was laying around at camp. Good thing was I did not miss any work out days last week, and I got a little extra in walking around a little in the woods. Guessing that helped. 

Really thought I was going to be up, very happy I was down even a little.

Weekly Weight Loss Update

Well. I was hoping to be down again this week, but I can't be upset with going back up a little. Since I ate WAY more than I usually do, being Thanksgiving and all. Plus I shoved a little more down my throat over the weekend.  So being up the 0.6 pounds is not a bad thing.

Workouts were relatively the same, no yoga though that's like the second week in a row. Gotta fix that, back is getting sore, that stretching is nice. Plus it's another workout. The getting dark at 5pm has eliminated the walks we would sometimes take in the evening, that limits the workouts too. But that is all on me, I just need to find something other to do.
