Weekly Weight Loss Update

Last Week: 192.7

This Week: 193.8

Damn. Up a pound. I thought for sure it was going to be down, considering yesterday I was lower than last week on the scale. I was down on the Wii, which the scale and the Wii say about the same weight, the Wii was slightly higher the past few weeks.

Oh well, I still feel better about my weight, and I will still continue to work out with weights and cardio at least twice a week. Eat better, or the same. I don't feel bad about what I ate last week at all. I didn't really pig out, which makes this weeks gain even worse. I kind of get it when I go up and I ate really bad.

On to next week. Which, I'm hoping isn't bad at all with the holiday weekend coming up. Yikes.

Un-Awesome Image of the Week

This is the Un-Awesome Image of the week, because it is not awesome.

I got a flat tire. Wanna know how? I got a piece of plywood down from the rafters in my garage. Apparently a splintered piece jammed itself in the side wall of my tire, giving me a flat. Not cool.



Only good thing that came out of this is that I finally learned how to change a spare tire, been driving for about 16 years now and its the first time I had to do that. The only other time I had a flat that needed changed my dad (the Hessian) did it.

Garden 2010 Update

Another week, another set of pictures.

Everything is growing great. A good season so far. I've picked plenty of peas and the lettuce is out of control. All varieties of peppers are coming along nicely, and the tomatoes will be here very soon. I just have to remember to water my plants on these hot days so I can get some bigger crops.

Cucumbers are about ready too, I have a ton of those hanging on.

Weekly Weight Loss Update

This Week: 192.7

Wasn't expecting that, but I'll take the weight loss. I shoved a lot of food and booze down my throat last week. I could have eaten more for sure. Especially over the weekend, Saturday I had a lot of pizza, then on Sunday I had a lot of fried chicken. I was really plotting against my weight loss. It didn't work.

Although, using the jackhammer for a few hours yesterday probably really helped me out. Plus it was really hot yesterday.

As far as activity, same as usual. At least two days of cardio and weights. Plus we were in the pool a few times last week. Making whirlpools in an above ground pool is hard work.

Garden 2010 Update

Another week, another garden update for you.

Everything is growing really well, the combo of rain/heat/humidity have really helped. Last year we had a cold May/June which held back the growth of my garden.

I have a ton of peas coming in, I've gotten a few jalapenos, and the lettuce is just taking over. Everything else is a few weeks off.

Weekly Weight Loss Update

YEAH! Down 1.8 pounds! WHOO!

I needed that, I really did. Father's Day is coming up and that's fried chicken pigout day. I'm not expecting to be down next week because of that. Hopefully I don't go up, staying the same would be a big win. I just have to be careful what I eat the rest of the week and I'll need to work out.

I was able to run twice last week, it's like I never stopped running. My foot has been fine so far. I'll soon be back to running a mile. I can't get use to the stationary bike being on the 9 setting. Man that is tough to do.

PA is Awesome Giveaway.

Ok, I only got 3 entries for my t-shirt giveaway, it makes my life easier that's for sure, but I was hoping for a few more.

Pennsylvania is awesome. This summer my wife and I drove up from Alabama with our three girls to visit my father. The weather in Alabama was already hot and steamy, so we looked forward to the cooler May temperatures of Western Pennsylvania. Boy were we surprised that 90 degree temperatures came with us, but it was still super fun.

The big event we planned was to take the girls to their first Pittsburgh Pirates game. This was also my first visit to the much acclaimed PNC Park. We decided the Memorial Day matinee would be the best way to enjoy the park and the festivities. As we pulled up to the stadium, I was excited to see how nice it looked perched downtown next to the rivers and bridges.

We decided on the cheap seats as the extra space would be good for the toddler's to do just that around the section. The view from the $12 seats was beyond great. You could see the river, the bridge in the outfield, and almost even see the play on the field(joking). A first inning rain shower seemed to spell doom for the game, but concluded with the Top of the First. With the awning that covers the upper rows of the cheap seats, the family stayed dry as a button as others fled for drier ground. To top it off the quick shower actually lowered the temperature to an awesome 85°.

The fireworks after a Pirate homerun excited my girls to no end. Another round of fireworks when they raised the Jolly Roger in victory was perfect way to send the girls back to the car for the ride home. Overall, PNC Park is beautifully placed in the city; and was everything I had heard. The Pirates playing well and winning the game against the hated Cubs was a bonus. PNC Park is just another reminder that Pennsylvania is Awesome.

Garden 2010 Update

Another week, another picture update from the garden. Everything really grew this past week. Nice humid weather, good for the garden, uncomfortable for me.

I've picked off some lettuce and peas this past week. Gotta love the fresh veggies. I guess I could say organic, since I don't use any sprays. So I could sell my produce to you at a really high cost...hmmm...I'll have to think that over.

Weekly Weight Loss Update

Well, I dropped most of the weight I gained from the previous week. So I'm just back to where I was. I just didn't eat as much pizza or drink as much beer. Way to go me.

Exercise and eating have not really changed at all. Mostly stationary bikes and weights. Slowly building back to running more.

Miller Lite Vortex Bottle is dumb

Miller Lite has some new bottle out they call the Vortex bottle. I normally get cans and poor them into a glass, well because I don't really like that can taste and it's a tad cheaper. There are times I drink out of bottles when I buy a specialty brew, since I have only ever seen those in bottles.

I do like drinking out of bottles, but bottles take up a lot of space in the recyclable container. Cans you can smash and make lots of room.

Well, I have to say they got me, because I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Way to go multi-million dollar advertising, you got me to buy one case of Miller Lite Bottles. Hope your plot worked. I did not notice a difference drinking out of that bottle than any other beer bottle I have drank out of. Seems like a total waste of time and money to create a new bottle that does absolutely nothing. Maybe it makes a difference when you pour it into a glass, but why would you do that with a bottled beer. You have a perfectly good container to begin with, just keep it in there.

If Miller Lite is trying to boost sales with creating new bottles and cans and whatever else they can think of. I have an idea for them. Cut the price of the beer. Stop putting money into stupid ideas that no one really cares about and don't use that money so it inflates the price of the brew. Miller Lite use to be a good price, but anymore I don't think it is.

Garden 2010 Update

Here is my update on my garden this year, complete with pictures. Hooray.

All is going well in the garden this season so far, except for the weeds that just keep growing. Stupid vines.

I have already picked some radishes, I should have planted more when those popped out of the ground. The peas are started show up, can't wait for those. Everything else is coming along nicely.

Weekly Weight Loss Update

dammit.

The weekend of overindulgence finally caught up to me. Too much beer and pizza I guess was not a good thing for weight loss. Oh well, I'll just have to move on and try to make better decisions this upcoming week.

On the bright side, I do have the clearance to run again. Which I did for 5 minutes on Monday, I'm suppose to build up again. Although the stationary bike kept me in fairly good shape so I could run as long as I wanted but I'm not suppose to.

I'm still pissy about this, next week better be good to me.
