Italian Restaurant Dilemma

Living in Manheim, PA there is not a shortage of Italian restaurant. There are four in walking distance if you live in the borough.

We have:

Two Cousin's
Great Chicken Cheese Steaks. This is the place to go for that. Also great deals, chicken caesar salad, excellent meal for two, portion is huge. Pizza there is good, not the top in Manheim though, but not like I'm not going to order it there though. Great wings too.

A&M Pizza
Great pizza, especially the sicilian style. We use to frequent this place a lot since it is right in the square and we live two blocks up from there. Stayed away for awhile because the sub rolls were not as fresh, but they have since remedied that problem.

Graziano's
Have not had the pizza here yet. I don't believe the sub rolls are baked fresh there (if I'm wrong I'm sorry), although they were good. Need to eat there a little more.

Francesco's Pizza
The location that they are in has seen a few owners since we lived in Manheim. I seriously hope these owners stay. Pizza was great, sub was excellent too. Roll was super fresh and just great (way better than subway!). I want to eat here more.

It's funny, of the 3 that make their own sub rolls, all have extremely different tastes and are all good in their own respect. Maybe this is why I can't lose weight? Too many great options to eat.

Damn that sucked

Below are images of hail that I encountered on Sunday afternoon while driving home from a birthday party. It seems as if my truck is fine, not suffering any dents or cracked windshield. Considering we got pelted by this hail, I'm very happy.

I have never experienced hail like that before. Fucking crazy to say the least. Just sounds horrible as the hail is pounding your vehicle. There was tons of hail in our yard. Crazy storm. I would have much rather my truck been in my garage the time that storm came through.

Mind Boggling

Boiling Mad: Crabs Feel Pain

Read it if you like, but it's pointless.

I'm fairly sure all living creatures feel some type of pain.

The simple fact someone wasted money researching this is beyond me. Who does this benefit? Just those PETA assholes.

Seriously, what the fuck. Next time you want to fund some research throw the money my way, I'll make better use of that money, like paying off school loans, mortgage, etc. So I have more money to spend on things I want.

I paused today

I paused for a second today and it kept me out of an accident.

While coming to stop at a stop sign, there was a car down the road. I initially was going to go, but I paused to see how fast the car was going, just then someone turned down the road I was stopped on. Nearly clipped my front drivers side of my truck. Good thing I decided to start stopping where the stop sign is, or my truck would have been hit. And you wouldn't be reading this calm rant.

I hate when people do their initial stop past a white line or the stop sign. You're suppose to stop at the white line or the stop, then proceed.

And this is why I hate driving in a city, I just drive on back roads where normally I am the only vehicle on the road. Just the way I like it.

NBC reminded me today the tonight is the Last Episode or ER...


...before the finale.

Things that piss me off.

What's that? It is the xbox 360 wireless adapter.

A $90 addition to your xbox 360. This is what kept me from buying a 360. I mean the Wii has one built in. So do many new cell phones, hell the iPod Touch has wifi built in. So why not the 360??? Can anyone tell me? I'd like to know.

What reminded me of this, was my nephew's Nintendo DS. I was messing around with it and saw that it had a built in wifi! And it's tiny too. I mean the 360 is kind of big, and I guess they use all that space to cool it down right?

Fucking Microsoft, can't just have one, it has to be 5 different packages. Bastards.

Trash Day

Image close enough to what wakes me.


I hate trash day, which happens to be Friday morning and Saturday when there is a holiday during the week. I swear these assholes try to make as much noise as possible. One noise, is the awesome squeaky brakes. Then the asshole dumping the trash in the back who throws down the trash can and lid, then yells GO! after each stop.

THEN! we have the recyclable pickup. That is even worse when that fucker comes through. Throwing that container down on the ground makes a really loud noise, plus the dumping of all the cans and bottles makes a great sound.

This all happened this morning at 5:30 AM, I wasn't planning on getting up at that time, I wanted to sleep a little longer. But that just didn't happen.

Ugh

Part of my goals of 2009 is to get my computer files/folders organized. Got my iPod so all my music is (almost) in one place, still have a few files on the iMac.

I have files spread out through four computers. My HP I bought 98 or 99, my iMac I bought in 2001, the Dell desktop from 2006, and the HP laptop. I just copy and pasted files and stuff is just all over and multiple times too. I have lots of duplicates, so I have to get this stuff in one place.

That's why I got the external hard-drive. Pictures and Music are there already, but the pictures were in all sorts of folders, so I'm being anal and putting them by year. Just a painstaking task for sure. Worst part is, I'm not sure were to put certain items. That's why I paused for a second and wrote this post.

I like to put things off.

Oh, Happy St. Patrick's Day. Drink up.

Why? Really. Why?

What does it matter? Someone please tell me, because my brain can't handle it.

I don't know, sometimes I can't stand that everyone is afraid to do something because of the fear that a few might not like. Not everyone is going to like everything. This is what happens when you allow everyone to win. We need to have losses and defeat in our lives from early on. Not everyone is a winner and you can't always win. Not winning all the time makes you try harder, get better, learn more and separates you from the ones that give up.

Making everyone a winner turns them into whiny little pussies who don't get their way, then scream fire so you give them what they want.

Seriously can't wait to crush my son in all various board games/video games/anything else he tries to win at. Well at least until he actually can beat me, then I'll retire.

Rough Week

I haven't had (made) time for rants this week. It's been kind of rough, work and just home.

Rants, I've been neglecting you. I'm sorry.

Also, when I go to write something my mind is going blank on something that I was pissed about and wanted to vent.

So let's talk beer. This year, I've been wanting to go and try out different beers, instead of Miller Lite every week. So I started out with Heineken.



Not bad, the alcohol content got me pretty good, but WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! If offered to me, I'm taking it, but probably won't buy again, unless I hit the lottery.

Yuengling Lager!

Former staple beer for me. Every once in a while, this a good beer to have, especially when extremely cold. This will pop throughout the year for sure.

Molson Canadian

I use to drink this a lot, but I always got a headache the next day, so I wasn't sure about this. But I went with it. Damn good and no headache.

Ok, so I'm not the greatest at describing beer other that FUCK YES THAT RULES! But it's my life, you'll deal.


Oh yeah, I plan on getting this.

Tagless Shirts

Yeah, they're great and all for the fact you don't have an annoying scratchy tag. But damn, that shit is hard to find in the dark and when you're tired. I mean which is the front and which is the back? When the shirt is new, you can kind of feel newly printed tag, but that shit wears off. Next thing you know, your shirt is on backwards and you're all annoyed. At least I am. Can't they make the shirt so that you can wear it both ways? Especially for the plain t-shirts? Come guys, get on that.

Recipe of the Month - March

This months recipe is Quick Beer Bread found in the recipe book: Sound the Gong. Come Dine. My wife got this book years ago, so I have no idea if it can be found anywhere.

This is really easy, even I could do it.

3 cups of self rising flour
2 Tbsps. sugar or honey
1 (12 oz) beer

Mix together. Bake in a greased and floured loaf pan (just use Pam Flour, you're set) at 45 minutes at 375 degrees.

Done!

Now the trick is the beer, I have used a variety of beers. Some good, some not so good. So far the best I have used was Miller Chill. The salt in the beer goes to the crust of the bread and you taste the lime when eating the bread, but you may have your own

You could also use the beer bread from Tastefully Simple, that's just as easy.

I had a friend write a paper about not taking drugs when he was 14. Two years later, he was smoking weed like there was no tomorrow. This is why the world stopped letting dumb little shits who were 14 make decisions. Because they make stupid choices, since they haven't really experienced life yet. Hell, you little shits can't even vote or fucking drive yet! So shut the fuck up and get back to school. You'll be swearing within a few years, so eat shit you little cock-bitch. Go suck some donkey balls.

Stop

See the above sign kids? This is a stop sign, this means when driving, or you know even riding your bicycle, you have to come to a complete stop before you start to go again. I know, those couple extra seconds of having your car come to a complete stop is going to make you late for that unimportant place you are going. Or maybe that cell phone is in your way of noticing that there is a stop sign on the road you travel everyday.

When you see the stop sign, you have to stop and wait until it is clear for you to proceed safely. We all took the test to get our drivers license, it's a universal sign, so YOU learned about it. This means when a vehicle is about to go past you, you don't try to go, you STOP. Sorry if you might have to sit there longer, it's better than being plowed into, or is it? Maybe you'll die and that's just one less moron on road.

The same goes for you assholes riding your bikes in your Lance Armstrong gear. The rules of the road apply to you as well. That stop sign is for your safety, seeing as you are not in a motor vehicle and are quite exposed. If you want me to get over as I pass you, you stop at the sign, if not I'll whiz by you extremely close and yell at you.

Thinkin' Spring

All this cold weather is making me think spring, since it's not that far off either. Which I can't wait, because I'm ready to start my garden. Each year brings some thing different, but just more of the same. Last year, I had way too many tomato plants and not enough pepper plants, the cucumbers kind of took over because I let 4 plants grow instead of one. Had some onions and garlic last year too, probably won't do them again this year. They were fine, but just items I don't use much. I'm still unsure what I'll plant different this year, I'll decide when I go buy the plants.

I know for sure, 2 tomato plants, 1 cucumber plant, green bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, some other kind of sweet pepper, and I'm not sure about the rest.

In years past I have grown watermelon, corn, potatoes, many attempts at sugar pees, green beans, and pumpkins. Most of these items take up too much space, which if you can't tell from the above picture, space is limited. I wish I had a bigger space to grow those veggies, but I just don't. Most of those are easy to grow, you just plant them and watch them grow. Not much maintenance at all.

This recent cold blast has given me spring fever.

Less than 3 weeks

That's how much time is left until I can bitch about the cold. It's been really windy and cold this winter, more so than years past. But it is still officially winter, and I can't complain or can I???

No, I can't but I don't have to like it. Worst part was this morning, when I opened the door to let the dog out and got blasted with cold air that I wasn't ready for. Leaving my warm bed for a cold shot, just not good on a Monday morning.
