Happy Halloween!

There is always next year for these great Halloween designs from Get Fresh Designs on CafePress! Well, great in my mind and maybe I'll have more for next year, since I add nothing to this section this year.

Check back often! Enjoy the day!!

I'm totally out of it

For the life of me, I thought Soundgarden broke up around 2000 or so. not in 1997ish. I also thought they had way more albums than they did. Like 3 major releases?

Soundgarden was a band in the 90's that I listened to what was on the radio, liked it, but never really got into them. I did this with Alice in Chains too, and Nirvana. Had all these great bands in the early 90's and I was a teenager, but I was just discovering music, Led Zeppelin to be exact. But as the years went on, I always said, I need to buy a Soundgarden CD. Yeah, that never happened. So recently MySpace added some music artists entire catalog, Soundgarden is one of them and I missed out. My bad. Some good music there.

But still, my mind has lapsed, they broke up like over 10 years ago. Damn I'm getting old.

Be sure to check out Steely McGnome, I think he's got a prediction.

Oh, and Happy Halloween bitches.

*update*
I checked MySpace today, and the Soundgarden catalog is gone. bastards.

Phucking Sillies

I am happy that my Pop (Grandfather) got to see the Phillies win the World Series, but I still don't have to like it. Mainly for all the rest of the "fans", saw numerous people on MySpace with the updated status of Yeah Phillies or some shit like that. I guess you're a Sillies fan since the playoffs. Fair weather fucks.

All these Philadelphia sports teams fans will all be talking shit now, starting with the Eagles are next, probably talk up the Flyers and Sixers even more. This is a bad day for anyone who has to deal with these idiots. Did they really deserve this?

That answer is no.

CafePress

Looks like they just updated their web site and interface, can't say I like the new design, layout and logo. The layout reminds me of Zazzle, which I do not like. The new logo is beyond me, seems harder to read, not really sure what they are going for with that logo. Check out the newly designed CafePress here.

I mean I understand the redesign of these items, I am constantly thinking about redesigning my shop and various items, but it's because I do not feel I have it quite right yet. I though the CafePress web site looked great before and just took a step backwards.

You can check out Get Fresh Designs at CafePress by clicking this link.

Thoughts/Comments?

I'm a sad, sad man

The Biggest Loser, I have no idea why I kept it on after my wife went to bed at 9 pm. But I did, I had been on the computer looking at very things on the internet, uploading pictures and i just kept that stupid fucking show on.

At 9:35 they start the process of voting someone off, there are 4 people on the team, only 3 of them could be voted off, you do not need 20 minutes to show that. Seriously NBC you killed this show for me, 1 hour. THAT'S IT! Just like comedy movies should never go over 1 hour 30 minutes, you just shoot yourself in the foot when you do that.

I mean they had 4 people go on about the person they voted off, then when the fourth person went to vote, they cut to commercial, then when they come back the show went back to recap. Like people just tuned in. Fucking stupid ass show! I just need to change the channel. It starts with me.

Phair Weather Phans

Yeah, you know who I'm talking about, especially if you know where I live, which you probably don't. I live in Lancaster County, and the Sillies fans are coming out of the woodwork.

Go Sillies, guys! I was with them all the way.

I hate Philadelphia fans and if they win the World Series, it's going to blow. Worst part is they can take it when they resume the game from last night. God this sucks, I want that city to burn, but not from winning a championship. From losing, their fans don't deserve this.

But as I type this, my Grandfather has watched the phillies for years, so maybe they can win for him.

Fucking Steelers

I don't talk too much football here, because I am not the best at it. But damn man. You guys need that 60 minutes mentality that Cowher instilled in you back. Played some great football on defense for 3 quarters, then you just let the Giants get to you and move down the field.

And I am finally on board, fire Arians. What is the deal with the routes these receivers are running? Looks like they're zig-zagging all over the field while the pressure is coming on Ben. I'm sick of seeing that, run some normal routes when you do, you move down the field. Use Miller more often, it works and will open up the big play.

Injuries suck and you have key players go down, it shows. How were we to know the value of Greg Warren. We do now.

In the end, this was a game the Steelers could lose. Against the NFC, who cares. It's the NFC, the only important game against the NFC is the Super Bowl.

4 Ints though, thanks for hurting me in my fantasy league Ben.

*Update*
Steely McGnome is/has moved to his own blog Steely McGnome Predicts. Just what I need, another blog to update.

The Places I ate in Treasure Island, FL

Sloppy Joe's
website
We ate here twice, once for dinner and the other for lunch.
For dinner I had the Grouper Sandwich, Grouper is a type of fish that I love to eat, I cannot describe the taste other that awesomeness. This is why I am not a food critic or a writer. But it is very good and I had the sweet potato fries. Very good meal, although I was disappointed with the lack of meat on the Grouper itself, but too frickin' good to complain.

For lunch I had a cheeseburger, well done, with the tortilla and potato chips. Seemed like a fresh hand patted burger that was extremely juicy. A really good burger that I will miss not being able to get again. I did not go with the fries because this was a Sunday lunch and I was all fries out. Plus I had 3 beers with my lunch.

Ricky T's Bar and Grille
website
We had breakfast here. Once again, frickin' awesome. I had the French Toast with Sausage links. This was hefty helping of French Toast, and kept me full for quite sometime. I only wished we would have ate dinner/lunch there. Very good.

Bazzie's Beach Bar
No website
We ate lunch here and this was located in the Hotel along with Sloppy Joe's, so somethings were similar. I just had the fish and chips, generic fish nothing exciting like the Grouper but a filling lunch, especially with a few beers.

VIP Lounge
website
Hole in the wall, but that normally translates into great food, and this holds true for this little mexican restaurant. I had the chicken chimichanga, with the sauce on the side. It was great, better than the one I had at Tequilla Mockingbird in OC, MD. This was not saturated in grease from being deep fried and the chicken inside was very moist and tasty, plus the serving was huge. I was only dissappointed with their sauces, not hot like I was hoping but more on the BBQ side. Oh well.

Middlegrounds Grill
website
Honestly, we should have never walked into this place. Not because it looked dirty or anything, I just believe this place was too fancy and too overpriced for us. Trust me, I felt extremely out of place there with my Led Zeppelin Squeeze My Lemon shirt on. I had the Skewered Succulent Jerk Shrimp with Herbed Rice. It was good, but not $20 good, when I could have went to Sloppy Joe's and gotten more Grouper for less than that. If you like fancy, this is place for you. I'll pass.

McDonald's

Google the website yourself.
I threw this in here because we ate here, twice. Probably wasted trips, but I was trying to win Monolopy. Plus I use to really crave their Sausage biscuit, I don't know, I'm not down with their biscuit anymore, I use to love it oh well. Prices were pretty much the same, drink prices seemed a lot higher.

Overall
We had some great food for really good prices, nothing too pricey especially since I thought it would be. Totally recommend Treasure Island, FL to anyone.

Mama Mia!

That's a Spicy Mullet!

I know, I posted this before, but I think it is funny and wanted to put it out there again. Why not. Better to post something than nothing.

Go here to view the design on CafePress.

Wow

Still didn't do the recap of the food places, but did you honestly expect it??

I will say this, I wore my steelers shirt last friday down there, and had lots of nice shirt comments from random people.

I said it before, I'll say it again. I'm done with this election, cannot wait until this damn thing is over, I'm sick of all the ads clogging my TV. fuckers.

I'm Dug E. Fresh, and I approve this message.

Delayed

I was going to recap some of the places I ate while vacationing in Florida, like I did in Ocean City, MD, but as I sat with the laptop last night I had no inspiration. So it is going to have to wait until maybe tomorrow or the next day. Sorry, I know you were all excited to read about it, but that's my lazy gene kicking in.

I'm back

and I'm sure you care.

I had quite the relaxing long weekend at Treasure Island, FL. Right outside of Tampa and smack dab in the middle of Devil Rays Country (I refuse to call them by their new official name). Evidently when they won on Sunday, people were driving around honking their horns and screaming, but I passed out around 9 from a long day of drinking.

We stayed at the Bilmar Beach Resort, and I would recommend this place. Right on the beach and really close to a lot of good restaurants (which I will highlight this week). Plus it was only 30 minutes from the Tampa Airport, so not too bad.

The highlight for me was sitting on the beach with no schedule when we were hungry we ate, when we were done with the ocean we left, and...

I'm a shell dork, and the beach was loaded with shells. Had I had more room I would have brought like 3 bags of shells home with me.

This was a disturbing sign to see, it's funny as you get older the more things you worry about that you did not even care about as a kid.

That's all for now, I don't want to waste it all in one post, I need to stretch ideas when I have them.

1st day in Florida

Well, it goes like this.

We left Harrisburg International Airport around 8pm. Got into Charlotte an hour+ later. Did not even think about looking to see if the gate changed, because how the hell do I know I don't fly anywhere much, our gate was different, had to rush around to get to our proper location. Charlotte is a HUGE airport, fuckin' rubes, wasn't expecting that. But then, we got into Tampa around midnight, BUT! our super shuttle had the wrong address, so we got fucked, did not get to our hotel until 2 am. TWO-FUCKING-AM. That sucks, that sucks mini pony balls, hairy ones.

But whatever, we have no real schedule, since we do not have 2 year old needing things, like loving care and stuff. Although I miss him, it's a nice break. and we went to the beach, nice warm gulf coast waters, very nice. It is totally different from the Atlantic ocean water in Ocean City, MD. Although, the waves are non-existent, which is good/bad, depends on what you want I guess. But I don't care, I'm at the beach in October, it's warm, sunny, and I'm drinking beer.

I'm off

For a long weekend in Treasure Island, FL. Right outside of Tampa, and depending on the outcome Thursday I could be walking right into a mad house when we arrive in Tampa. So this will be the extent of this post, if I have time I may post some pictures. Oh ant that relies on free wifi in the hotel, which I would not see why they wouldn't have it. But I'm not counting on it.

There will be a Steely McGnome Predicts, but he will be next to the TV, but the game won't be on, so his score may be way off. So don't bet with his score this week.

Later.

Gnome Flip Mino

CafePress just struck a deal with the FlipMino, and are now offering them on their site. They are also running a contest for shopowners. I threw my hat in the ring with the Gnome Flip Mino, why not. Gnomes rule you know.

Go here to check it out, and possibly buy one. I wish I could get a bigger cut of that price, but I'm not. Oh well.

Enough Shopping Centers

We had friends that lived outside of Philly after college, and we would visit on occasion. I cannot remember exactly what the name of the town/city they lived in, we just called it Philly. But it really wasn't, the place was it's own, but the megatropolis had sprawled there with all their strip malls on every street, lights on what seemed like back roads, a dunkin donuts within walking distant of your house, I'm sure some of you have seen these places. This is not for me, too much hustle and bustle, too many people. Because you see I live in Lancaster County, PA and grew up with none of that for the longest time.

When my brother started driving, 1991, he and his friends would go on those back roads and "race" each other. (can you really call it racing with a ford escort and a chevette?) Then do this thing they called power braking, the passenger would pull up on the emergency break for loads of fun. You see, no one was on that road and there was no way that someone would be coming on that road.

Even when I started driving those roads weren't really occupied. Then something happened, more and more people who wanted to get away from the megatropolis started moving here because it wasn't congested with people and over run by strip malls. Well, county commisioners and planners thought they could fix that. Hey, there's a shopping center right there, but lets put one a quarter of a mile down the road with everything that shopping center already has, but with different companies and to top it all off, we'll leave the road just the way it is. Oh wait, we need housing, lets put in a bunch of over-priced townhouses on this farm land, nobody needs the food that can be produced off that anyhow.

That all brings me to this article I saw on WGAL 8s web site. Read Article.

The place they are proposing to put this shopping center, is pretty much in between two already, and if you go down Fruitville Pike towards Lancaster City, you have strip malls on both sides, then another shopping center with dentists offices on the other side, then go under the Route 30 bridge, then another HUGE shopping center. You know, something they really need, just like I need a hole in my head so I can breathe better.

Great Job guys, keep up the good work in making Lancaster County more of a suburb of Filthadelphia.

Site Update

Check out Get Fresh Designs on CafePress, I have updated my section images. I know, I worked really hard. I plan on adding more updated items, like a new banner, maybe some HTML links to the top. I don't know yet, it's still all in the works. In my head. But keep checking back for more updates.

Thanks

South Park

I love that show, I love that they push everyone's buttons. You can go view all the episodes here: South Park Studios. Which is great for me I missed tons of episodes over the years and now I can catch up. I also got to catch the latest episode with Lucas and Spielberg raping Indiana Jones. Thought it was great, because everyone bitched about that Indian Jones movie, but yet it pulled in over 300 million in box office here in the US, this isn't even what the movie will do in DVD sales/rentals. I liked the movie, so what if it was a tad hokey, so were the other 3. They all had those moments and you all know it.

Not everything is suppose to be real in those types of movies, their fantasy. not actual events, I mean you do you believe that cartoons are real too? Now when a movie is based on a true story and they change it up, then you can bitch.

Is the election over yet?

I hate presidential election year. All this hype so you can go vote, and if the state you live in doesn't does not give the person you voted for the electoral vote, you just wasted your time. Plus all the actors, who could care less about you, tell you that you should get out a vote in the Presidential election. I hate those fucks, just shut your mouth and act in movies I like, stop making shitty movies.

Too much weight is put into the presidential election, you have more of a voice when voting in local/state elections. More will get done for you if you put the right people in place there. Too bad no one cares or gives you enough information on that. Not even local papers.

Arborvitae Sucks

Why you ask, because if you had to trim the shit, you would understand. Especially if you moved into a house with some arborvitae that was 10 feet tall and had to be trimmed twice a year. Not fun, my arms are sore. So, have a good weekend. Something is telling me that Steely McGnome has a prediction, but there is no game so check back later to see what he has.

Parades

Last night was the Manheim Farm Show parade, this parade was 2 hours, we watched it for an hour and a half. The little was excited, but really I don't get the draw of the parades, especially since it's the same stuff every year. Plus you're basically sitting there watching advertisements for local businesses while they drive around in their shiny vehicles. Different schools marching bands playing, people throwing tootsie rolls. I don't know, it's not favorite thing to do.

It's only redeeming moment was the mini-ponies. Two sets came by, I was able to snap a picture with my cell phone, not the greatest but you can see the little guy.

Candy Corn is Yummy

This was definitely one of the first shirts I ever created. Actually sold one or two, but that doesn't make me happy. Come on, it's funny, you know it! Candy Corn is yummy. It's that time of the year, you know the time they took about 6 months to gather all the candy corn from the trash, wash it off and repackage it so you can buy the candy corn and not eat it just to continue the cycle.

Go here to view Candy Corn is yummy at Get Fresh Designs on CafePress.

The Biggest Loser

As I write this, the show is on the TV and I'm not sure why. This show has gotten out of hand, I mean why can't they show me workouts? I really could care less about their fatty lives, and their stupid feelings and why they got fat. Once again, you got fat because you did not exercise and ate food that tasted really, really fucking good. Got it? Good, because you're making the change for the better. Way to go, thumbs out. But do NOT act all surprised when they throw you a curveball like vote one family member off or put you in two teams. Like you have never seen the show before, fucking fatties, go to an all you can eat buffet and pig out already. God I hate this show.

Update: They split the show up into two days, so I get to watch this shit again tonight. yay, some fattie is going to cry because their loved one is going home.

Frickin' Economy

Totally messing up my CafePress shop. June/July/August were great, I thought it would continue, September was ok, so far nothing in October. I blame the economy and the election, people buying shirts that half will be rendered useless once November comes. Come on! My will be rendered useless when they finally wear out.

damn it.

I plan on redesigning my shop layout here by the end of the year, also maybe some re-freshening of www.dugefresh.com as well. Will try to post at least one blog entry here once a week, and posting something (probably the same thing) on the message board.

Hey, I'm not stopping you from going there now though.

Get the Led out.

I've been a Led Zeppelin fan for years, being as my dad was a teenager when they came out he always listened to them. I remember radio shows always had certain times when they would play a block of Zeppelin (block = 4 songs). One station had a Whole Lotta Lunch parody song, good stuff.

So when Page/Plant got back together and did the whole "un"plugged thing, I was ecstatic, as were some of my friends, missed them on the first pass, but got them on the second leg of the tour. Tuesday, October 24, 1995 The Spectrum, Philadelphia, PA. First concert ever, and the only true concert experience (since most of the venues wanted clean air, so people could bring their kids to a rock concert and just sit there and listen to the band like they're listening to a CD) because as soon as the lights went that odd smoke smell filled the arena. Wonder what it was? Caught Page/Plant again in 1998, July 10. That was a Friday, the next day we went back down to witness Ozzfest in Camden, NJ (but they all called it Philly).

Then in 2000, I caught Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes in Camden, NJ. Great show, played for 2 hours, then did a 30 minute encore. Somewhat unheard of if you ask me, most bands play 1 hour 30 mintes, and that includes the encore. But whatever.

All of this was aided by this web site: Tight But Loose

Which I can say I've been viewing since 1995, constantly checking for updates. It use to be a daily basis, but it has come to about once a week, since I have other things to check. This site is/was great always had updates about what was going on in the world of Led Zeppelin.

Which brings me to this, about a year ago Led Zeppelin reunited for a benefit concert, which made the rumor mill swirl about them going on a world wide tour. Which of course, we all knew wasn't going to happen. Plant was going on support the release of Raising Sand which he did with Alison Krauss, which I must say was a fine CD quite surprising to me. But then Jimmy, John Paul, and Jason were said to be getting together and rehearsing which to even more rumors. One even saying that Plant was in. But come on people you had to know Plant wasn't going to, and he said no.

Fine, that's cool with me, had they toured I would have shelled out the money to go see them, it wouldn't be the same as actually seeing them in their heyday, but still something to see.

But what gets me to my point is, in one of the articles it said that Jimmy, John Paul, and Jason had another singer coming in. Which is fine as well, Plant doesn't have the vocal range and they could probably sound even better with a younger guy in there. But please, don't call it Led Zeppelin, because it is truly not without Plant. Call your new found band just Zeppelin, plain old Zeppelin. It gets the point across without ruining the legacy.

2008 Fall Mountains Tournament Results

Yeah, so my lazy ass finally got around to finalizing everything and uploading the results and creating the MySpace blog for it as well.

Here is the link to the blog, by the way I won. I rule. Whoops I spoiled it for you.

I have the Pictures on Picasa, if you look hard enough you can find a link to them, I'm fairly sure I told you at some point.
